WhatsApp launches ‘Chat Lock’ feature for users
The needs and requirements of social media users in privacy and security continue to increase with time. WhatsApp has now made it possible for you to lock all your personal and business chats to protect them from being accessed by any other person. This feature allows you to place your chats in a new folder which can only be opened by your phone’s password, such as finger lock. This adds another layer of security to chats while also enabling us to access them in a few seconds with bare minimum effort.
However, you will need to download the latest version of WhatsApp to access this feature. Once using the newest WhatsApp version, open the chat you want to lock and tap on the contact’s profile picture, where you will find more options. Scroll down the menu, and you will find the new ‘Chat Lock’ option in it, which is located right below the disappearing messages menu. To access your locked chats, swipe down on your home page, which shows all the chats. You will then find all your locked chats, which will only open once you put in your fingerprint/password.
