Gehlot vs. Pilot: Rajasthan Congress attempts at subduing rising tensions
Gehlot vs. Pilot : As the state of Rajasthan inches closer to assembly elections with every passing day, the Ashok Gehlot-led state government finds itself in a political crisis. Sachin Pilot, among the tallest Congress leaders in the state, has been relentlessly protesting the state government for not dealing with corruption cases effectively. Sukhjinder Randhawa, Rajasthan Congress’ party chief, has been trying to get Gehlot and Pilot on the table and work out all their differences.
Randhawa has also met with Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge to decide what to do next, who further sought advice from Rahul Gandhi. According to ANI, Rahul Gandhi is slated to talk about their strategy going forward with Sonia Gandhi, aiming to quell all issues between Sachin Pilot and Ashok Gehlot camp. The two-party leaders haven’t been on good terms since Pilot rebelled against Gehlot, after which both of them have made critical remarks against each other. Congress has arranged for a meeting between both parties on April 13 to find solutions and put an end to this tussle. The election dates for Rajasthan legislative assembly is yet to be decided.
